This past weekend I had to ultimate pleasure of being able to go and see my friend Julia in San Diego. We are both photographers and worked together here in Vancouver a while ago and have been wanting to get together for awhile. My hubby was super awesome and sent me out of the house to San Diego for a long weekend :) YAY!
While down with Julia we actually spent two days shooting together! The first day we spent shooting a few friends of hers that she had been wanting to shoot for awhile(I will cover day two tomorrow!). Sharon and Leo are the cutest and most adorable couple! Leo definitely has the Brazilian model look to him and Sharon has the most amazing legs (and core!) being that she is a physical therapist and runs about 11 miles a day!
Julia was telling me about this private airport that she has driven by for about the last year that she has been wanting to do a photo shoot at. So we drove by and it was really perfect for this shoot. After trying to get in the front gate (that was locked) we drove around the side until we found an open gate. When we got in we found a few people over by their plane and went to chat with them about being able to take photos in the airport. To our joy the man was excited to have us there and even said we could take photos with his plane!!However we had already seen a few planes that we really liked. They are from the 70s era and don't run anymore. They are battered by the weather and have great texture to them!!
So we set up a few shots and they were awesome! Julia has these antique pieces of luggage that worked perfectly in the space.
I have to say that Julia and I worked to well together! While she was having her friends pose and look at her for photos I was able to get awesome shots from other angles and give her some creative ideas.
